The last race of the year.

After the Danish DH cup was over we only had one more race on the calender. The race was held in Thale, GER and was the final of the German iXS cup.
The track there is pretty flat and pedally, but was quite fun to ride in practice. The top section is open with some jumps and roadgaps and the middle and bottom is in the forrest with some off cambers and pedal-sections.

Friday:
Friday morning we went up to walk the track and get our start numbers. After the track walk we ate some lunch and got ready to get some runs in. The track was super dry and was running really fast. I was felling confident on the track as there were not any tech bits. Bo was running the new Maxxis Minion 2.5 protection tires all day and was very impressed by how nimble the Banshee Legend felt with some lighter tires and tubes.

Saturday:
Saturday was a wet day. It had rained all night and the prognosis said that it would not stop at all so we got the Maxxis Wetscreams on. The track was almost running as fast as in the dry, because of the constant rain. I got some good runs in before seeding later that day. Unfortunately Bo crashed hard two times in practice and was pretty sore, so he just wanted to get a okay seeding in. Seeding went okay for me, I rode into a tree midway but was on the pedals fast again. I ended up seeding 41th in Elite men. Bo seeded 64th. So we had something to work with for the finals!:)

Sunday:
Sunday practice went good for both of us, but Bo was pretty sore from the crashes. I decide to ride the practice on cut Wetscreams which went really good, if felt I could carry more speed on the flat sections, but still have grip on the off camber bits.

Bo had a good run, but rode into a tree half way. He finished 56th which is his best result in Elite men so far, so he was happy. Bo rode about 10 sek. faster than his seeding.

My run was good I pedaled hard and hit all my lines pretty good. I was really happy to have a tear off on my Smith googles:) I ended up 31th and 4th Junior in Elite men, so I was pretty stoked. I rode 5 sek faster than my seeding.

All in all it was a fun weekend riding in the mud. It was super good to have our mechanic, Christian with us that weekend! We are both looking forward to next years races!

The last two rounds of the Danish DH cup.

The last two races was held in Rold forrest. The track there is super fun. It is a pretty basic course with some fun jumps and steep sections.
Bo on the log ride.

Saturday:
The Fusion Freeride event was held Saturday. It is about getting points on the jumps and North Shore sections. Both Bo and I rode the event, just for fun. Bo rode all the big jumps and North Shore sections so he got 2nd in the event. Bjarke from the 222Freeride team got a 3rd. I just rode some jumps and used it as a practice run for Sunday. Saturday was also a training day, so I got a bit training in there. Unfortunately Bo could only ride Saturday. So I was left alone with our mechanic Christian. Bjarke and Kasper from the 222Freeride team was also there.
Bjarke on the 30 feet road gap.

Sunday:
The first race of the started at 10.00 so I was there an hour or so before to get some practice run in and warm up. The course was a bit dryer so my Minions could hook up in de damp conditions.

The first race of the day was two runs on two different course, where the times are gathered to one time. The first run went good and I came in 1.2 up on no. 2 on the 50 seconds course. Second run was good with a little mistake in the middle. I came in .4 seconds faster than no. 2 so I had won the 7th round. I was really happy to have won the 6th and 7th round. It gave me a lot of confidence for the 8th round.

Me in practice.

The 8th round was one run called "No Limits". The concept is to find the fastest way down the hill on the two courses.
The run went well but I came down .04 slower than no. 1. I was pretty gutted that I had lost by .04 of a second.. But 2nd is also good:)

Ry, 6. round of the Danish DH cup.

Last weekend Bo and I rode the 6th round of the Danish DH cup i Ry. The course was steep and muddy, just how we like it:) Both Bo and I came Sunday morning so we could get some runs in before the race.
From the first run I felt home on the track, so I knew that I could get a good result. We took turns to ride in front and tried some new lines, which worked out good. A lot of people were running dry tyres, but we decided to try the Maxxis Wetscream out - that tyre has so much grip in the mud it is almost like riding in the dry!

Come race the rain came down hard so the course got even more muddy. Bo was fast in his first run, but had a mistake in his second run. Even though the mistake he got a 5th at the race.

My first run went really good, I hit all my lines and came down 4 sec. faster than no. 2 so I just had the stay on the bike in my second run. My second run went good but I had a crash midway so I got up fast and gave it my all to the bottom. Even tough I crashed I won the race by 1 sec. so I was happy.

Stay tuned for a race report from the 7th and 8th round of the Danish Dh cup in Rold.

The last few weeks

It´s been a while since I have written on the blog, but I have been up to a lot so here it goes:)

About a month ago the 5th round of the Danish DH cup went off. The race was held i Ruehede a little forest on Fyn. The course was pretty basic, but the rain came, and made it interesting.
Bo had a bad crash the week before at the 222cycles dirt jam, so he was not riding. So it was up to me and the 222Freeride team to pin it.
Unfortunately the I crashed in both of my race runs, 10 meters before the finsih line. I was gutted because I felt fast trough practise. Luckily the 222Freeride team was at the race to get a result. Lars Mortensen from the Freeride team won the race by 2 sek and Bjarke got a 4th place so the team was happy:)

Bjarke pinning it.

After the race I went to France for four days. It was the first time for me to ride my bike in there, so I was pretty excited.
The first day we rode in Morzine which was okay but there were alot of brake bumps so it was not the most fun. We found some secret runs in the forest which was super sick! Steep and very rutted. To end the day of we took the super Morzine lift to the top and found a fast super fun trails all the way down to Morzine.
The second day we went to Les Deux Alpes to get some longer runs. We rode alot of red and black runs there all day. The trails there are super fun and flowy. I defiantly got better at riding berms.
The last two days we rode in Chatel. The bikepark there is soo fun to ride. There´s berms jumps and some rock pits, that are fun. We had some fun days there in the rain.

To sum it up it was a super fun trip. I rode with my new Leatt Brace and got to try some new things with my Legend and my Marzocchi fork.

Stay tuned for a race update from the two last rounds of the danish DH cup!

3. Round of the SWE cup in Vånga, Sweden.

Saturday

The next weekend I decided to race one of the Swedish DH races, which was new for me. I took the race as traning for the iXS cup, and just to have fun.

The track was very short about 1.15, but a very fun 1.15 sekunds. The track very rocky and tekincal.

We came on seeding day, so we took some chilled runs, finding some good lines. It was a pretty basic track, so I was up to speed fast.

Seeding went well, I decided to ride really chill and have fun. I seeded 5th so it was okay, consideret I did not pedal or push it.

We slept in a barn infront of a snow machine, which was sickJ thanks to the staff for letting us sleep there.

Sunday

Sunday we went up for some runs, when the practise started. I started pre-jumping, jumps and having loads of fun. The atmosfere at the race was so chilled, that I did not fell that I was at a race.

I was confident with my lines and the track, so I knew that I could ride alot faster than my seeding, and get a podium. The top sektion went good and I hit all the fast lines, but had a puncture just before the halfmark, which was pretty anoying, because I was only 2 sek slower, than the guy in the hot seat, so I was on a good run.

After two great weekends the team and I are looking forward to a little time of before some Danish races and one iXS cup.

Round 2 of the German iXS

2. round of the German iXS cup in Rittershausen

The 2. round of the german iXS cup was in Rittershausen. The track is steep at some places and very rutted. It is a good allround track with some pedaling at the top, and teknical riding at the bottom. I think the hole team was looking forward to the race in Rittershausen after the track walk.

Friday

The practise Friday was really fun, the track was very dry and fast. We were finding some new lines as the track was strating to get a bit rougher. The practise ended on at good note, so we had something to look forward to the Saturday.

Saturday

Saturday started early, with practise from 8 am. It was going to be about 38 degrees Saturday, so we wanted to get up early and do some runs, before it got really hot. After 3-4 runs we desided to stop and chill out in the lake before our seeding run.

Seeding went really bad for Bo and I, Bo crashed two times and i crashed one time, we ended up in the lower half in the seeding. We were both strugling with the heat, and therefore we just needed to get down, in a okay time, without getting really hurt. We desided to put the seeding result behind us an focus on the race Sunday.

Sunday

Sunday we headed up for practise, focusing on hitting our lines smooth, and getting confortable with the track getting more and more rutted up. We got some good stable runs and rode down to the lake to cool off.

Bo and I seeded with only two riders between us, so we took the shuttel up toghter. Bo was going to start before me. Unfurtnutly Bo got in to his pedaling mode and got excited and rode into a tree, but came down about 25 sekunds faster then his seeding. Now it was up to me to get in a good run. I hit all my lines in the top and middel sektion, so I was feeling confident, that could push abit hard on the last steep seltion, but then I blew both my feet in a steep corner and had a little off, but came down to the finish 1 sek. Faster than I wanted, so it was good.

After the race we headed to Willingen, which is one of our favorit tracks, because of the jumps. I rode some new lines, which was cool, now the only jump I have´nt ridden is the WC hip. Bo blew up his rear wheel, so he was out for the rest of the day. We rode there for a half day, before we sat in the car on the way home to Denmark.

DH på Mols

God Sommer.
