The last race of the year.

After the Danish DH cup was over we only had one more race on the calender. The race was held in Thale, GER and was the final of the German iXS cup.
The track there is pretty flat and pedally, but was quite fun to ride in practice. The top section is open with some jumps and roadgaps and the middle and bottom is in the forrest with some off cambers and pedal-sections.

Friday:
Friday morning we went up to walk the track and get our start numbers. After the track walk we ate some lunch and got ready to get some runs in. The track was super dry and was running really fast. I was felling confident on the track as there were not any tech bits. Bo was running the new Maxxis Minion 2.5 protection tires all day and was very impressed by how nimble the Banshee Legend felt with some lighter tires and tubes.

Saturday:
Saturday was a wet day. It had rained all night and the prognosis said that it would not stop at all so we got the Maxxis Wetscreams on. The track was almost running as fast as in the dry, because of the constant rain. I got some good runs in before seeding later that day. Unfortunately Bo crashed hard two times in practice and was pretty sore, so he just wanted to get a okay seeding in. Seeding went okay for me, I rode into a tree midway but was on the pedals fast again. I ended up seeding 41th in Elite men. Bo seeded 64th. So we had something to work with for the finals!:)

Sunday:
Sunday practice went good for both of us, but Bo was pretty sore from the crashes. I decide to ride the practice on cut Wetscreams which went really good, if felt I could carry more speed on the flat sections, but still have grip on the off camber bits.

Bo had a good run, but rode into a tree half way. He finished 56th which is his best result in Elite men so far, so he was happy. Bo rode about 10 sek. faster than his seeding.

My run was good I pedaled hard and hit all my lines pretty good. I was really happy to have a tear off on my Smith googles:) I ended up 31th and 4th Junior in Elite men, so I was pretty stoked. I rode 5 sek faster than my seeding.

All in all it was a fun weekend riding in the mud. It was super good to have our mechanic, Christian with us that weekend! We are both looking forward to next years races!
